WATER LOVERS

I have three Corgi's who absolutely love the water another one who likes it but doesn't love it, one who hates it and two who only tolerate water. The three who love the water have a pool of their own and spend every evening running in and out of it when the weather is good. It's so fun to watch them, Porter actually swims in his pool. He had one run in with a sheep water trough that he jumped in expecting it to have a bottom like his pool. Discovering that his new pool was very deep and he went under, I totally freaked out and went running and screaming into the sheep pen. (I witnessed it from about 100 feet away). Porter was trying to hang on to the side of the metal trough and was doing a pretty good job of it. He was rescued without incident although the sheep were annoyed by the dog hair now floating in their water! Porter has not attempted his diving act again and stays in his very own, safe, little plastic pool. Lesson learned. (My Corgi's never wander the ranch alone as they are completely fearless!)

Comment by Jen on July 26, 2008 at 1:38am: It must run in the family...I didn't think about gettting the kiddy pool out for Emee..she has the schedule for the auto sprinklers and hits everyone as they come on. She gets a shower twice a day... loved the story..

They've only been in it twice though, takes a lot to blow it up and you can't leave it sitting out in Fla for too long, mosquitos and such. I imagine the water is a wonderful break from running around with all that hair:D
