It's all fun and games until....

Marley loves to play with one of our cats, Pete. And he really enjoys wrestling back. They are almost exactly the same size so they are on pretty equal terms. However it is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. I came home from work Wed night and Pete wasn't putting any weight on his right front paw. I ran my fingers over it and - ouch - crunchy sounds! So I brought him for x-rays and they showed two broken toes:( :( So now he is in a splint for 6-8 weeks! Although there were no eye witnesses my husband said he heard a 'crash' in the dining room Wed before he left for work and when he checked it out one of the chairs was knocked over - no animals in sight. The two of them usually play in the dining room so best guess is some hard playing led to Pete's broken toes :( He is getting around okay but keeps looking at me with eyes that say 'Mom, when are you going to get this thing off my leg?' Poor Pete!
