Hi, it's me, Sidney, again.
I had quite a week. Some of you know I was in an accident on Monday this week. Me and big brothers Bruce and Chester were coming in from a walk, and I decided I was not done exploring. I got away from my Mom at the front door, and like a dummy I took off for the street. I didn't look at where I was going, I heard Mom and her Dad yelling at me - really loud - to stop, come back, but I didn't care. The wind was in my ears and it felt good to run so fast with nobody holding onto my leash. Well, this big heavy thing like one I sometimes ride in (they call it a "car") was moving along the street. I smashed right into it! I let out a loud yelp that chilled Mom to the bone. The car stopped for a minute, then it moved away. I was hurt and wanted to get home fast! I turned around and ran back up my hill and straight into the house. Mom ran to me fast and checked me all over, crying the whole time.
All my legs were ok, but my mouth was bleeding. Part of one of my front teeth fell off into Mom's hand. My doctor was called, and he said I was to come see him the next day, since I was able to drink a little water and eat some food.
Mom took me to the doctor on Tuesday. He looked in my mouth ...boy I did NOT like THAT!...and saw that my tooth was broken right in half and the nerve was exposed. He said he'd have to take my tooth away from me! First he neuters me, now this??
So I went back again on Thursday. It was a long day for Mom and her mom and dad. I was not ready to come home until very late. After I went to sleep, the doctor could take a better look at my teeth and saw I had busted ANOTHER tooth. Now Mom wonders if I will whistle when I bark. When she came to get me, I was not feeling very good at all. It was scary to be at the doctors without Mom, and my mouth hurt. They fussed over me all night. Today I'm feeling a little bit better. I'm starting to move faster though I still don't want to eat very much. At least Mom says I get soft food instead of kibble for a few days. Yay!
OK, my fellow corgis, here's the scoop. Those big moving things are very powerful. Don't mess with them. You will lose. Better yet, never run away from your family. It's just not safe, and your family will get very upset. Running fast and feeling the wind is only safe in a park or a yard with a fence. Trust me on this. I was very, very lucky all I lost was two teeth.
Bye for now!
