My boyfriend and I picked up Charlie from Sunny Garden Farm this past Saturday. We met his dad (big boy!) and his littermates, and the lovely Sandy Johnson, owner of Sunny Garden.

The car ride home was pretty smooth, he sat in daddy's lap for a bit and then slept the rest of the way on mine.

Look at that sweet face... :)

At home he took a liking to sleeping on my bed, but I decided that's probably a habit I don't want him to have when he's full grown! So now he sleeps either in his crate or in his pen with the crate door open. Last night was the first night he slept soundly all the way from 10pm to 6am. I am a proud mommy!

He loves to nip, but a yelp will stop him. He likes to chew daddy's shoes too, but only because daddy lets him (everyone else's shoes are off limits!). He knows to go on his pee pad very well now, and now and then just likes to cuddle with mommy, resting his head on my shoulder. These are my favorite times! He loves his belly rubs too of course.

While i'm at work, I just can't wait to get home to him, I miss him so much! The vet's office asked to show him around to everyone working there the day we went for his first checkup; apparently they have never seen a baby corgi (how weird is that?). He was so well behaved during the vet visit as well. Good boy!

Outside walks have been difficult. We're experiencing a bit of a heat wave here in Chicago lately, so the moment he feels the hot air outside, he sits down and won't go anywhere. So instead, we take walks inside the apartment and he's slowly learning that his abilities are endless (he just learned to climb and descend the stairs yesterday!).

I can't wait to see him grow and learn new things daily! We'll be taking obedience classes soon, so that will be fun!

He's super cute! My corgi pup Finnley came from Sunny Gardens. I got him in June, so I guess our puppies are like cousins? lol

Adorable puppy!  My wife and I live out by Rockford, so I know what you're saying about the heat!  We found that as our corgi has grown, she has gotten pretty good with walks and has almost limitless energy.  Have fun training your puppy.  Corgis learn incredibly fast (we taught our puppy to come in about 15 minutes, and it stuck with her).

Charlie is adorable! Like Natalie said, the puppy stage flies by and don't allow Charlie to do steps yet. If I remember correctly, I think it is after they are 6 months before they are allowed to do steps. When we first got Noodles, we lived in a 2nd floor apartment, so it was carrying him up and down every time we went out. Thankfully he was a puppy. After he turned 6 months, we attempted the stairs and he just sat at both the top and bottom waiting for me to pick him up. It took bribing with treats to get him to learn the stairs.

Welcome to the site and enjoy your new little baby!

Congrats on your new puppy!!! He is so handsome!!  Lance has two buddies who came from Sunny Garden Farms, but they aren't pups anymore but younger than Lance who is 5!!

It definitely is too hot to be walking outside. :(  Good idea about practicing the walking inside, it does take them a while to get used to the whole idea of going on walks. It is so fun to watch puppies grow, and seems like they grow up soooo fast.  You don't want your pup doing stairs just yet, so he doesn't injure himself, they need to grow a bit more.  Same as about jumping onto things at a young age.  When Lance was a pup, he would run around the place (known as frapping), and zoom onto the couch and off the couch, he was very agile, but probably would have been wiser for me to not let him.  Luckily, he didn't hurt himself.  He was my first pup, so I had no idea this was a bad idea. This site has been wonderful, so much information to offer.  Lance was almost two before I found mycorgi.    Looking forward to watching Charlie grow.  Welcome to mycorgi!!! :)
