I can't sleep... and feel the need to blog...

So I was fast asleep about 1 hour ago, dreaming of wee lil' corgi bunny butts running loose on the pastures of England.  Then suddenly I was awoken by a 22 lb corgi standing on my chest and the sound of a hacking sheltie in the distance.  And what to my wondering eyes does appear.. 4 large piles of vomit that pale in comparison to the Great Lakes.  Don't you hate that feeling?  You know you want to pretend they aren't there and that the smell of vomit is overtaking your room.  If only you could close your eyes and just pretend it didn't happen.  Well let's just be clear here.. my lil' Corgi poo was not the sick one but she felt the need to wake me up bc her buddy wasn't feeling so hot.  Sweet girl.  My poor Dina (my childhood dog) was sick.  She's always had a weak stomach so this is anything new.  And the poor girl is currently battling oral cancer.  Sadly, at her age (13) and the type and stage of cancer there was no cure.  We are just giving her lots of love and kisses in her last days.  Although on a positive note, she was giving a prognosis of only 6-8 weeks back in January!  And we were just at the vets last week and they said she was doing so well.  She's a little fighter.  Did I mention her and my parents other sheltie cought kennel cough last week?  How?  We don't know.  They don't get too much contact with other dogs, nor do they stay in kennels.  Vet said could have a lot to do with her low immune system right now.  And they don't really vacinate against it here in Germany.  Luckily, Butters received her shot just prior to flying her so she has been spared "the cough".

Anyways, vomit has now been cleaned up.  Nearly had to clean up my own pile of vomit caused by the act of smelling other vomit.  I couldn't find any air freshner so about 5 or 6 squirts of my Chanel perfume will have to do.  :)  Oh did I mention I spent nearly 2 hours hemming my curtains today?  My first attempt at doing so.  And then shortly there after Butters (my corgi-poo) ripped the hem out and put a 3 inch hole in them.  Ahh the joys of owning a 10 month old puppy.

So it's 2:15 am local time here in Germany, and do you know what I'm currently thinking?  How much I love my dogs, and I wouldn't trade them for the world.  They bring me so much joy and so many smiles and so so many laughs.  A little vomit and curtain destorying won't ruin my night.  Goodnight corgi world! :)

The pose of innocence!!  Lol.  :)

When Gracie was a puppy, she'd crawl under my bed, lay on her back and attack my box spring with a vengence, ripping the cover to shreds.  I'd forgotten about it until I bought a new mattress and they were taking the old away...I'd patched it with an old pillowcase.  Beautiful!

Look who I caught in the act again... please notice heavily destroyed curtain hem.  She was hoping that by turning her head away from the curtain I'd merely pass by the half digested curtain.  Lol.

Yup, the late night barf surprise is no fun but having your furry pal jump up on the bed and then realizing he's got hershey-squirt residue on his bunny butt is even worse.  You not only get woken up in the most unpleasant way but you get to clean up the corgi AND change the bed linens.

lol.  I hear ya.   I was awakened the other night by the cat retching and before I could get there, the Corgi clean-up crew had it all under control.  Nothing like a hot meal at 3 am.  Gross eh?  That's my dog!

Best wishes from Phoenix Arizona to you and your pooches.  You sound like an awesome dog mom!  :)

lol. i definitely know the feeling of closing your eyes and going "I DONT SMELL VOMIT! I DONT HEAR RETCHING! ALALALALALALALAH!"

Though right now with the new puppy it's more like "I don't smell pee! I don't hear whining! I am still asleep! >_<"

Oh my word.....I'm sorry, but your story just made me laugh and laugh...sympathy laughter!  You poor thing, bless ya for taking care of your pooches, young and old.  I hope you have a good nights sleep tomorrow night!  No vomit, no holes.....just the thought of having the critters you love with you.
