Three weeks ago, Bailey was frapping in the yard and running full speed as corgis do. He tripped and slammed his chest into a wood step. He seemed to be OK, but the next morning Bailey's back legs were paralyzed. I rushed him to the vet and after tests, they determined he had spinal cord damage. The vet sent us to a veterinary surgeon and after more tests it showed he needed surgery immediately. The surgery went well. He stayed at the surgeons for 5 days. He is now recovering at home and is gaining the use of his legs little by little. I use a sling to help him walk and give him daily massages and meds as needed. I am thankful that Bailey will someday be frapping with his fur pals again! The only thing that is a worry to me is that I borrowed the $3,500 to pay for Bailey's surgery. I contacted a web site called CorgiPals.com that does fundraisers for corgis who have owners in need. They are different than Corgiaid(only helps rescues). If anyone is interested in reading Bailey's story a little more in depth, Bailey's web page is: http://www.corgipals.org/Fundraisers/HelpingPaws/Bailey2.aspx
FYI---Bailey and I have been My Corgi members since the beginning. I had to re-register due to my old email address becoming in- accessible. Before Bailey I had Casey the corgi who died of cancer at a young age. Thanks for listening.
