Hi everyone! Even though I'm a new member of this site I've actually been reading alot of the blogs lately haha, totally don't know why I didn't think of signing up.

I'm new to the corgi society but I'm a die hard fan of them !
I've always wanted a corgi for the longest time and now I think is the right timing to finally make one of these precious dogs mine :)

Cheego (the cutie below) is the most handsome thing ever. He is the last pup of the litter and he has navy blue eyes! I fell in love with him at first sight and  I even got the invoice from the breeder to pay deposit for him!

But unfortunetly .. I need my landlord's permission before I can have any domestic pets..

and knowing corgis are most likely to be barkers, I don't have a great feeling about this :(....

I'm so anxious about what my landlord's decision will be !!!!!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!

I want to provide this cutie with the warmest home NOW!!!

Ziggi & Kymii >> I really appreciate your information :) and i find that to be reasonable too! It's hard to tell whether or not a breeder is reputable isn't it? And they ARE most likely more pricy?  I myself is on a tight budget too haha but sure I understand if there WERE major issues to come in the future I would be spending way more money right?  I just can't resist this little guy though ><  ugh!

Nora >> I'm glad you found a healthy girl :)  Yeah this breeder provides health guarantee too. Hmm...  Take the risk !?

Honestly, my DouBao was not from the reputable breeder list of Pembroke Welsh Corgi Assoication of Canada. I found her on the local web. She is not registered but her parents are. And the breeder was not only breed corgi, but they do provide health guarantee. I had a tight budget (thought I would be unemployed...), so I took my chance and went with what I could afford.

I drove three hours to see her when she is 5 weeks old and did it again when I took her home. I felt in love with her at the first moment I held her in my hands. She is now almost 11 months and had no big issue so far. I did take good care of her like everyone does in this site. We shall see how it goes.

I don't care about the registration since I am not going to show her or else... I am very happy that she is with me.

No problem :D

I actually hold my standards of "reputable" a lot less loosely than a lot of people.. To me, reputable is merely taking care of your dogs, doing proper health and tmperament testing and not pumping out puppies for money.

The thing that bothers me is she can't really focus on one breeds specifics if she has so many different types she breeds..

And the consequences I would see from her is possible huge health issues later on, because she doesn't test for things like DM, OFA, etc... Which is a good thing to look out for. You should know fully what you are getting into is all I am saying:) I'm not exactly the best person to inform you lol.. I just know what I would do :P

Thanks Ziggy & Kymii for the advice! and yes I did notice that on their site, and Tammy (the breeder) is actually quiet helpful when I got in contact with her. She described Leo (his actual name LOL) as quiet and shy.  Whats the consequence of buying corgis off unreputable breeders?  its true she said he is not registered therefore does not have papers but I didnt find that being such a big deal before?

Awh he is really adorable. I've seen his ad on Puppyfind and I have to say that his breeder really doesn't seem all that responsible.

She breeds FIVE breeds of dogs, doesn't have information on health testing, and Pembroke Welsh Corgis are not even one of the breeds she says that they "specialize" in and uses Puppyfind to advertise---which not all breeders on Puppyfind aren't reputable, but most are not.. I would look around more, and if things don't work out with your landlord, it may not be too terrible-the right one will come along when the timing is right!

To top that off, reputable breeders can work with you to find the personality you want... So maybe a more laid back puppy would fit in with you---since maybe a less energetic one won't bark quite as much?:) Good luck!
