I live in MA and would like very much to get a Corgi puppy this spring but I am not sure how to go about it. I did email a couple of breeders but received no respnse so far. How does this all happen?

I checked puppyfind.com frequently but ended up getting my puppy from a breeder I located on the national society website. We spoke by email and phone for a few months before I made the final decision to give a deposit for the upcoming litter. Just make sure you get as much information as possible from the breeder to ensure that they are reputable and will give you a quality pup. Shelter dogs are great too, we just weren't able to find a Corgi (Pem or Cardi) in the local shelters. Good luck!

hey try petfinders.com. you can find corgi puppies that are in shelters or foster care. cause i know that you prob want the puppy experience but rescuing from a shelter would be nice too :D

I also use puppyfind.com. That's how I got Rhet. I could give you the name/number/email of our breeder. She is very sweet and will be happy to help you!

I found my breeder off the national society website, and I just love her (Tresaith Corgis in Alabama) http://www.pwcca.org/art_history_ssh.html. You can also look to see if MA has its own listing. Also try some of the breeders listed in the CT club, the Mayflower Corgi Society: http://www.mayflowercorgiclub.org/index.php. They will often indicate whether they have puppies or are expecting. But THEN, do evaluate the breeder! Make sure they are not just trying to create perfect show specimens, but breeding for good health and temperament as well. The Mayflower also has a rescue group that's very active, if you'd like to go that way. Lots of lovely dogs need a home!

Do the breeders have any phone numbers you can call? I would try that next if they don't check their e-mail. I often look on puppyfind.com (even though I can't get a puppy for a while). Just make sure the puppies are from a quality breeder though. Visit them if possible and see how they take care of their dogs and look at the parents.
