I finally have time to blog about my first corgi, Momo. When I first went to see him, there were 5 boy puppies running around chomping on toes, and there was this medium sized puppy with medium temperament, and a thick white stripe down his nose. He was the one I picked out, his breeder said they were 7-8 weeks old and is ready to go home with me. His sister, the only female of the litter has already gone home with a family. I wanted to wait a bit, until they learn bite inhibition, and a little note to self (never wear open toed shoes to see puppies with pointy teeth!!!). The second time I went to visit him, I brought a fluffy fox for him to snuggle with until I take him home so he'll still have something familiar when I do take him home, and I brought a little collar to put on him so he'll be off limits to all other potential buyers!! But here's something that doesn't add up, on my second visit I asked when the puppies were born, and the breeder said 10/21 .... which meant that the breeder was trying to sell him at 6 weeks on my first visit!!!! Yikes :O!! And the breeder wanted me to take him home again on our second visit, but I put it off for another week.
When I went to pick up my puppy, the breeder brought out the biggest one of the litter that was super macho aggressive when I went to see the litter, and the breeder said he was the one I picked out! The breeder said the all the other puppies were chewing on his collar, so they took it off. But, even before I brought the collar, the breeder was able to identify which puppy I picked out on the second visit. I don't really understand what happened, I left a deposit and had a contract stating I paid for the puppy I picked out and they would save him for me .....
But anyways ...... of course all the other red puppies were sold and gone home with their families. And that's how Momo came to my home, Momo has a little heart on top of his head and there's a tiny white line the connects his heart to his nose and half of his nose is white the other side is tan. Boy was he the smelliest thing in the world!!!! I totally forgot about the little fox I left with him, but that's alright I guess his smelly collar would have to do. That night I gave him a bath and he went to sleep next to my pillow. And he's been sleeping with me every night since. I'm glad I got him though, I guess he's my clearance puppy ;], right now he's sleeping like a rock through all the fireworks while my other dog Pookie is doing the head tilt looking at window trying to figure out what's going on.
:D haha Happy New Years!!!!!
