We adopted a rescue several months back. Things have been going really well. The only issued we have now, is Bud eating too fast.
He scarfs his food so quickly that he regularly begins to choke. He often won’t wait to stop chocking before he resume eating. ARG!
I began researching slow down bowls. Most of the reviews said that they worked great until the dog figured out how to tip the bowl and dump out the food.
I began to think of alternatives. At first I considered an ice cube tray…but it wouldn’t hold enough. Eventually I thought of using a mini muffin pan.
We use it everyday now. It works great! He can’t tip it over, and it slows his eating sufficiently.
Hope this might help someone else.

thats really clever:] i love it when things like that pop up!
Great idea!!!!! :)
That's an awesome idea!
Thank you for a great idea. I have many different ways of feeding Snickers- I am working on making a video montage of her eating. LOL. We have many treat balls, like the Kong Wobbler. She has several Premier Busy Buddy styles also. I use different size kibble for different toys. I will make her do tricks; sit, down, roll over, for some of her meal. She might have to jump over my legs as I sit on the floor in the hall tossing a kibble or two on one side or the other. We do treasure hunts where I scatter her ration of kibble around the kitchen and dining room (not on the carpet). She also gets to try to catch them as I toss them at her or slip and slide on a wood or tile floor as I toss them across the room. Things that she does not like, like grooming, teeth brushing, etc often happen at meal time so her kibble is her treat, one or two at a time. Meal time is play time for Snickers! Thank goodness I can just put a bowl down for the other two!
Thank you for sharing this idea! My corgi "Blinky" eats so fast he does the same thing, he gags and chokes. I got the same opinions regarding those bowls, that they really did not work very well. I am for sure going to try this trick at home. I love it!!! Thanks again!
