Ramji has a mysterious fever. He hasn't done anything out of the ordinary and he also doesnt have diarrhea. He does have a loss of appetite and is lethargic.

Took him to the vet yesterday, they did a fluid pack in his shoulders and got a shot of fever reducer. I checked his temperature throughout the night and it did go down through the night, it went down 104.5 to 103 to 102 but this morning, it shot back up to 104.7

I'm taking him back to the vet in a couple minutes to get more fever reducer.

Has anyone had their baby have a random fever???

Any tips on reducing the fever?

I did ice packs, I wet his stomach and his back. the AC is on....I don't know what else to try :(

He's doing better, Yesterday he had a regular temp of about 101 and flirted with the 102's. This morning he's 102.4 and now regained his appetite. I did get a prescription of antibiotics but I didnt give it to him yesterday and wonder if I should....

I agree with Melissa. Would also ask your vet if it could be tick related.

You may want to consider doing some bloodwork to see the cause of the fever. Generally it is from infection but even a basic CBC will be able to tell you if it is a viral or a bacterial infection depending on what values are high. If its bacterial a course of antibiotics will help, if its viral maybe adding an immune supplement for a bit to help him get through it.

When I got Kirby he spiked a fever of 105 and had to be hospitalized. He was on fluids and we did bloodwork and found out he had a bacterial infection of some kind and the vet prescribed 2 different antibiotics. Once I started them he got better very rapidly. An antibiotic injection will start working very quickly to kill the infection and then you can give pills or liquid after that.
