Hi All,
I just got my corgi and he is constanstly licking! He licks me and boyfriend non-stop, the carpet, comforter, etc.
Does anyone else experience this or know why he is doing it so much? Any feedback would be much appreciated!!
My parent's Shih-Tzu also has a licking obsession also. She loves licking things made out of metal, and people's sweaty skin the most. Eww.. I think she just likes the taste of the metal and skin, but she also licks her paws for hours sometimes.

you should definitely break them of that habit. friends of ours have a shih tzu with OCD (constant licker) and she already licked all the fur off from her hindquarters.

This is normal for new puppies because they are just trying to get a sense of all the new things in your house
He will stop in a few days
Our Ein loves to lick too. Paco, our chihuahua bears the brunt of it because he is submissive and she is dominant, but she will lick anyone who lets her. :)
I keep Ein company by playing with him with his toys, so he's doing something else. I usually say "Thank you Ein" as an indicator that he should stop licking. When he doesn't stop completely, (because he always thinks he can sneak 2 more licks) I say "No". And he stops.
Ein does this as well. I think he either has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, is bored, is stressed, is licking food flavors off stuff, or is giving you tons of kisses. And I believe it's usually the second to last and last one.
