Gromit Does His Civic Duty
Since Gromit turned three this year and that's over 18 in dog years I registered him to vote. He was keen to vote for AZ. House of Representatives member Frank Pratt who is a corgi owner. At the polling station they questioned whether Gromit should be allowed to vote and I said "He was born here so he's a citizen and he's smarter than some people I know." Good enough. He got his ballot. Democracy is a great thing.

I saw this picture yesterday, and I just had to sign in on my smartphone this morning at work to sneak in a comment. Gromit is just so cute! You know how much I love him from all the hugs and squeezes I give him. I would vote for him for in a heartbeat! No dogcatcher for him! Oooohhhh, what a sweetie. I just love him so much!

No vote for dog catcher here, John. It's an appointed position, a bit of job patronage, not unlike US Secretary of State, handed out to loyal campaign staff by the mayor. The good news is that Gromit's pal Frank has won re-election to the State House of Representatives so corgis will continue to have power and influence in state politics.

URGENT: For the MSNBC exit poll, can you tell us who Gromit voted for dogcatcher? The race is tight. Enquiring minds want to know.
Gwynnie wrote-in Emma Goldman for dogcatcher -- she seems to think a famous dead anarchist would make a good dogcatcher -- but sometimes I think she is not entirely there. Gwynnie, I mean.

I think Gromit is smarter then most politicians. Maybe he needs to consider running for office! I would vote for him!
