My pup LOVES rope toys. Those are his favorite. He covets them in the yard and the house.
We bought our crate on EBAY for half as much at any store. They were even half the price of Walmart, which had very reasonable ones.

Everything else was about the same for us :D

Maybe it is just my vet, but some of those prices seemed kind of high on the visits. The most expensive vet visit I had was when he got attacked and it wasn't too bad (I'll have to look at my invoice to check).

As far as dog bowls, I received mine as a Christmas gift and they were ridiculously priced. 90 bucks for two, but they are really nice. I wouldn't pay that much for a food bowl personally, but it does show how spoiled he is. As far as crates, Amazon has good prices and you can always hope that their will be a mix up and get one for free like I did.

I think training may be optional for a puppy. We found that (we ended up not having too much $$ but did well with our puppy anyways!) we didn't have to spend too much to socialise him and train, as long as we kept on a schedule and continued. Plus the dog park was a great resource for socialization.

I also found that crates are so expensive through PetSmart ... Petco ... etc!! We're looking on upgrading our crate, but our smaller one for travel was originally $60+. However we find crates at Costco and AAFES (Air Force BX) for around $60 for 36inches.
