We recently added a Bengal kitten into our 'dog pack' of four (two corgis which are inside/outside, a lab--outside--and a German Shepherd--outside.) His name is Mr. Skellington because he is so tiny! We kept the dogs outside in the building for the first day, then brought in our little girl, Chloe, first. There was no growling, hissing or flying furs, but she did try to herd him around and nibble at his food. There was no apparent aggression.

Next, we brought in our boy Corgi, Cara. He is a normal gentle soul and sniffed the kitty and that was it.

However, we have yet to have them both around the kitty at the same time. Generally, when both Corgis are inside they get rowdy--chasing and biting and having a good ol' time. I'm worried that the kitty could get hurt. The Bengal can jump up on the couch and runs faster than Chloe, but he or the dogs could get hurt.

Any tips on how to make the transition smoother would be appreciated. Is there any chance that Cara and Chloe will act differently when they are around the kitty together? They seem to be more outgoing when they are together anyway.

Thanks.
~Bryanna.

I don't know that it is what you want to hear but if you find this to be a problem and come up with a solution let me know...I have a corgi and an aussie both young, seperate they leave the cats (we have two 9 year old cats) alone. Together it is a mad house of trying to get to the kitty first. One of the cats used to have them both buffaloed but recently she has given up on trying to fight back when there are two of them. The other one has alwasy ran from them so therefore is fair game in their book. Both dogs get into trouble for this, they are told no, not allowed loose if I can get ahold of them before they notice the cat, and I have even tried using a squirt bottle. I think that if it was only the one cat that said she wasn't going to put up with them then peace would reign in our house. So hopefully your cat will smack them each a few times and they learn not to mess with him.
