Hi!
I brought home our sweet little Lucille about 6 weeks ago...so she's 16 weeks old. She is doing great at running around in the house and chasing toys outside. She has even gone on a couple neighborhood walks. The last two walks my husband and I have taken her on, we'll head out (and she's really excited to explore) and after walking about 6 feet, she'll just flop on the ground. Then, I'll get her going again, and after about 6 feet, she flops again....she continues to do this for most of the 1 block walk. She's a normal, active puppy most of the time, it is just her recent walks have been very stop and go. Any suggestions on what may be the problem?

Hi Megan! You are in San Diego, right? So am I. What part of SD are you in, and what time of day are you walking her? This time of year it is way to hot for Sidney and Connie, unless we go in the evening after it has started cooling off. And I bet those little puppy paws are still really sensitive to the heat of the ground.
Had a similar problem with my Zeke when he first started walking. He was very reluctant to leave the front of the apartment, so I would carry him and set him down once we had gotten a ways away. He's always enthusiastic on the trek back home, it's the trek out he gets lazy/obstinate about. Treats every few feet help, but he doesn't like walking on sunny days, for whatever reason.
When we got Bella, she loved getting out of the house going on mile-long walks everyday. Then, she suddenly started whining and being stubborn half way through the walks with us. It is most likely, just SPS Stubborn Puppy Syndrome :-). Lucile may be tired, it may be too hot for her, she may want to play, she may not feel like walking, she already explored that spot, e.t.c. She's just a puppy, it's nothing to worry about!
