So it's been a month and a half with our sweet summer pup, Milo. He's already 4 months old!
Overall, things are great. One of the bigger challenges right now is that he wants to eat absolutely everything he finds on the ground. I'm often fishing sticks, rocks, globs of dirt and grass, acorn shells, etc out of his mouth and I'm a bit worried he'll start wolfing things down to keep me from taking them. Beyond that, he's a bit barky with the cats and nippy when playing, but he's getting better every day. Couldn't have asked for a more wonderful dog :)

He's a cute little one... And your cat looks like Priscilla, the cat my parents now have.
Thanks for the well wishes and advice! We definitely need to establish "leave it." Milo is more inclined to chew on things while he walks than he is to bring them home, so it would be really helpful to get to the point where he doesn't pick them up to begin with :)
Judith, leave it is a very useful command, and one to teach right away. You are right, they need to know you mean it. :)
What a cuter baby. One of the first commands that I taught Murray was "leave it". He came home from every walk with a treasure in his mouth. When we got home I'd tell him to leave it and he'd drop it so I could put it in the garbage. If it was something that I didn't want him to touch at all, it didn't take too long and he'd just leave it on command. This from a puppy who was very stubborn and very "mouthy". You just need to make sure they know you really mean it...or maybe I was just lucky?
Happy 4 months!! Cute pics, love the one of Milo and the kitty, so precious, those soft blankets are the best too!! Awww, his first halloween costume, what a cute cow!! :) When Lance was a puppy my neighbor said he looked like a cow, since hes black and white... :O lol
