So i have had my corgi for 4 years and hes a great dog. He can be very tough at times but is obedient when he wants to be. I aheva 8 mo old dtr and recently she grabbed him to pet him and he nipped at her. I really dont want to give him up but if this keeps up then i will need to find a home for him without children. Please give me any feedback you can. thanks

The key here is supervision. Little children love to explore with their hands and have little understanding about respecting animals because of their tender age. You mention that he is "obedient when he wants to be" which tells me that he probably lacks in training and respect for the humans in the house. An obedience class and continued training would be most helpful in this situation as well. Sadly many folks feel that dogs that grow up with children will naturally love them. This is not always the case with dogs that may be a bit protective of their own space. In your dogs world the nip was merely a warning that your child had gone too far. While it is not acceptable he must learn alternate ways to deal with unwanted attention. For now it would be best to make sure any interaction between them be supervised. Assistance for training will help you learn how to best teach and redirect your dog.

Thank you for coming here and at least listening to advice before you make a decision. I believe the our furbabies should be forever dogs and we should initiate them into the family hierachy.
