We're back to leaving Eddy running free while we're gone. It's been about a month, and so far, no issues. We even did a ton of cleaning and re-arranging, and it still didn't seem to incite chewing. Usually he goes crazy when the environment is ruffled. Maybe the puppy chewing is over, but we're still looking out for general destruction. Of course we try to leave him sleepy, full, and surrounded by favorite playthings. Hopefully that's enough and we don't run into deeper problems. Oy!
Most recent trick - Eddy can now balance a treat on his nose, for as long as I want, and catch it when I tell him he can. Very cute. He cannot maintain the trick on his nose if I leave the room, though, I think it has to do w/ eye contact. Because he can sit-stay forever, even if I leave the house. He has also gotten very precise at doing army-crawling through the house. I tell him to "STOP" in mid-crawl and he has to hold there like a statue until I tell him to "crawl" again. HOW adorable!!! I don't know what to teach him next... Maybe the "BANG!" trick? I want him to be belly-up for that one, though... because we all know how corgis can balance on their spines perfectly...
