Not Without My Corgi: The Toby Jones Story

Hey Guys!

Wanted to share the amazing story of how my corgi, Toby, was once kidnapped by my crazy landlord and her animal activist neighbor; I hired a private detective and was able to find him and get him back.  100% true.  I recently wrote it up on my blog and thought I would share with other corgi lovers:

That's Part I of the tale.  Parts II and II already up on the blog as well.

Happy Friday!

Thanks Everyone!  Yes, at the time it was the scariest and most distressing thing that has ever happened to me.  I drove myself crazy, literally, trying to find him.  But when you have a feeling (and about a dozen signs along the way),  you just have to go with it!  I've told the story so many times in person, but I'm glad I finally wrote it all down.  I was looking for somewhere formal to submit it.  I actually wrote in to "This American Life" on NPR, lol.  Maybe they'll feature it there!

That's crazy it took me a while to read it all but man! I'm glad that you got him back and he is in a MUCH better situation! Good job with all the detective stuff. You were right to question it!

Wow!! I just read the whole thing. That's crazy!! Some people are just... I dunno. I'm at a loss of words. Crazy activist people scare me. I mean, I have a few vegan activist friends but they're not THAT crazy. Sure makes for a good story though I guess. And I'm very glad to hear that you got Toby home in the end.

I came back from work and immediately came to the computer to read the rest of the story...almost was late picking my daughter up from school, I was so into reading your story.  Sorry you had to go through that, what an emotional rollercoaster, and so glad you got back Toby, thanks to your awesome dedication.

This is so insane that you have no choice but to believe it!  You simply cannot make this stuff up!  D:  What a horrible thing to have happen!

Oh, and I like that you confirmed one of my suspicions about corgis.  They are never mean, they could just be a$$holes!

Okay, I was just going to say that you should "shop" your story around. I think you have a winning short feature here!  Thanks for sharing your story.  You are a wonderful story teller!

Oh wow!  I have a crazy neighbor but luckily do not see her doing anything to my dog.  She just hates the human race..lol.  The story sure helped pass some time at work [while I'm sitting here neglecting my dog (lol, had to say it)] and was more entertainment than most other things I could have been doing.

I think if done right, it would have the makings for a pretty good movie.  The world needs a movie about a corgi and I bet the landlord and neighbor would get quite a stir out of seeing their characters in film.

Glad you were able to find "Toby Cheddar Mac" (my made up name for him)! :)

Wow!  What a story! I'm going to go hunt for the other episodes.  It's like a corgi-centric soap opera!

Your story is amazing!  It translated perfectly to the written word - I'm in DC as well - I'll be lookin' out for that pair 'o crazy if I'm ever in the Takoma Park area!
