Ashton left us far too soon. Sunday he was playing with Alphonse and Pinoko, Monday morning he was sick. Tuesday night he was gone. And gone with him a big piece of our hearts.

He was such a good boy, the absolute best. He loved to visit with his dog friends but loved to visit with people even more. He enjoyed a bunch of different canine sports including agility, herding, coursing, rally, trick dog and obedience. Ok, not obedience so much, but he did really well at it! Ashton was happiest just being with us no matter what we were doing. Even if that meant putting on silly costumes for social media posts!

Incredibly smart, handsome, and packed full of charisma, he's the guy you'd take home to meet the folks. A natural leader, he kept the puppies in line and they never questioned it. He was a whole lot of personality packed into a stumpy body. He loved lots and was loved in return.

We are completely heartbroken. Words cannot express the depth of our sadness. You left us too soon, Ashton. The weight of your loss is almost too much for us to take. We miss you so much. We love you now and always.

Thank you for sharing your life with us. 10 years was not enough. You were the true embodiment of your Cowboy Bebop namesake, Ein. Rest In Peace, Ashton. You’ll always be in our hearts.

He was the sunshine in my life and brought so much joy to everyone he met. I know your heart ache. We knew his time was coming, but waking up that day and him telling me it was time, that was sudden. They will forever be missed!

Comment by Gail and Ashton on February 23, 2019 at 8:49pm: It's been so hard. Alphonse and Pinoko have been sticking close to us. It was just too fast. I appreciate the support. Our hearts are broken and Ashton left a huge hole in our hearts. He was such a good boy. He spoiled us with his unconditional love. I know he's waiting over the Rainbow Bridge for us. I just wish I had more time with him here. We donated his bed, crate pads, blankets and other things to an animal sanctuary so he could help others. Seeing his stuff was just too hard on us and this way Ashton can help these rescue animals find some comfort. His love continues after his passing. He was my little shadow. He was my heart. And now he is my angel.
