I took Charlie to petsmart to get the furminator wash and asked them to trim around his poop shoot (I think that's what everyone called it here lol) and I stressed that I only wanted that part trimmed. When I went to pick him up the guy trimmed way to much. It looks likes a mini lawn mower went through his fluff. I am only so upset because the last time i took him, they did a nice job and didn't get rid of so much. This time it's a lot and I'm scared that it won't grow back! I just hope he won't get patchy and he will get fluffy again. My parents say its not that bad and I guess it's not. It's just the initial shock of seeing his butt like that. Oh well...What do you guys think? You think it will grow back again? and if it does, how long will it take?
I am happy that he is clean and they washed him very well. Just shocked I guess. I also wanted to take his back to trim the rest so it won't look as odd but I didn't want to risk them making it worse. Should have I been mean and told him he did bad. I was so excited to see Charlie that I didn't even pay attention until I saw him walking in front of me. Also he seemed like he was trying, I guess I will have to point out what I want shaved next time.

We get our Golden Retriever mix shaved every summer and she has a fringe (butt curtains) that is long and dense kinda like Ace's just more flowy cuz the golden in her.. and mom says it takes 2-3 months for it to grow backa nd she looks completely normal once it grows back...
not sure about getting Ace shaved im scared he would look funny and Oregon summers arent that horrible especially since i have a water loving Corgi lol
but im sure it will grow back just fine =) Buffy always looks normal come August/September when her fur grows back in full~ (get her shaved usually late June/early July)
[to the tune of Kookaburra] Dingleberries hang off the corgi's poop shoot....
So sorry, but this thread cracks me up...and I have room to laugh because I have a fluffy with dingleberry issues. :) (Which, by the way, we try to curtail by thinning the fluff with shears.)
An anchor mustache? Oh, my, I don't think I want to look that close up.
I have a personal, unsubstantiated bias against Pet Smart, or other big chains. I suspect the experience of the staff, the supervision, the training, etc., etc. Since I've never used their services, my evidence is only anecdotal.
On the other hand, my private groomer has been with us for almost 20 years. She has kept records about and respected our specifications, such as don't cut the whiskers, trim between the pads to avoid ice ball, etc. We always have the salon owner or one of her staff who are always under her supervision.
thanks guys so much!!! I can put my stress to rest now! lol it kind of looks like one of those anchor mustaches if you look close up!
Other than that, his shedding had been soooooooooooooo much better!
