I hope someone out there can cure my worries. We got a new corgi in February. He seemed very normal till now.
He is 8 months old and his weight is about 12 pound. We saw a corgi over the weekend the same age as Max and he was twice his size and weight. Do I have a mini Corgi? The breeder just keeps saying he is going to be small.

"Mini-Corgi" is a (how do I say this) ...um....bad breeding on the part of some puppy mills. Now, don't get me wrong, there are corgis of all size but most pems are going to be 22-28 lbs. We have a "mini" that was from a mill in Boaz, AL and she weighs in at 17lbs @ 2 years old. She's awesome; a spunky little thing with energy to spare and we adore her. So enjoy your little corgi! Don't worry so much about her size. You'll have so much fun!

There is no such animal as a mini Corgi. Some are smaller than others. My boys have a small mother but so far seem to be normal size for the breed standard.

Callie at 9 months. The other Corgi is 1 year old.

Callie is small, she seemed half the size of other Corgis for a long time. Now that she is a year old and is filling out more, she doesn't seem quite as small. She was the runt of the litter, you may have a runt too. Callie is 1 year old and weighs 20 pounds. (Still smaller than a normal Corgi)

At 6 months Jack weighed 26 pounds, but he's oversized.

At two he goes around 38 or 39 pounds. So I guess he weighed 2/3 of his mature weight at 6 months. Unless your dog has a major growth spurt, my math has him topping out at around 16 to 18 pounds.
