I am pretty worried right now because Little Sunny is sick, she has this cough and puking thing going on. It went on for about 6 hours on Thursday morning and we took her to pet emergency who then sent us to our own vet. For another two days they couldn't figure it out so we had to do an explorative surgery. I didn’t like that but it found the problem, she had a swollen pancreas possibly caused by a virus. She is healing good so far but her little cut makes me sad. Anyway enough for now Bye Bye-Chad
Its Carrie. I thought I would post a picture of Sunny. She had her surgery done on Friday afternoon and we are starting to see the Sunny that we know. It all started at 2am on Thursday and I cleaned up her mess. She then kept throwing up. I thought it would pass but it hit 5am and I just couldn't let it continue. She wasn't even holding down water which really scared me. Her breathing was very shallow, her ears were back and she was very disorientated. I knew she didn't eat anything bad because I keep an eye on her. Plus, all my chemicals are on a shelf in a closet in the laundry room.
All day Thursday and half of Friday the vet didn't know what was wrong with her. Sunny just didn't look like the puppy we use to see. Sunny was very sleepy and unmotivated, refusing treats and food. She did wag her nub when she saw a bloodhound at the vet and that made me feel a little better, since that proved to me that she was trying to be in good spirits. She is a fighter. Chad was out of town up in Prudhoe Bay (the very top of Alaska) so its not like he could just come home, so he was very upset. But things are getting better at least. I am sure she will recover fast. Its sad to see her little belly shaved. Despite we don't like suregery with an enlarged pancreas we had to move fast to see what was wrong. I hope this may be helpful for anyone out there that may run into this.
