We finally got confirmation on the breeding schedule for the litter our puppy will be from. It's looking like puppies will be expected by the end of September/early October, which means puppies will go to their new homes (our home!) around the end of the year/early 2014.

That is a long time to have the "I WANT A DOG" pangs, but the wait will be worth it.

I'm continuing to read everything I can about the breed and refreshing myself on puppy rearing basics. It's been many years since we've had a tiny little pup in the house, and we definitely want to take full advantage of the window for proper socialization and basic obedience training.

I remember what it felt like to be a little kid waiting to finally bring my first dog home. The feeling really hasn't changed all that much.

I'm in the same boat. Probably early-mid 2014. It's frustrating but it will be worth the wait!

How exciting!  I've only had 2 little puppies in my life.  The first one I don't remember, I was only 9 months old and my father brought home a beagle puppy...my mother was not happy.  The one I did raise from 10 weeks was an Irish Wolfhound.  All my other dogs have been older pups..close to a year or rescues.
