My Corgi is 6 months old and time to start thinking about neutering. I am considering a vasectomy to help keep his adult weight in control. Does anyone have experience with this procedure? Results?

Thanks, Kim

Keep in mind that having a vasectomy may control his ability to produce pups but his hormones will still be fully intact. This may lend you problems in his ability to socialize in large groups of dogs or male/male aggression. He will also have continued interest in females in season and certainly would attempt to breed to them. Everything stays the same except the ability to produce. I would choose the neutering and be mindful of his weight.

Is weight gain really common in neutered corgis?
