Finally, finally! After weeks of trying to find and research breeders, choose a breeder, choose a pup, and wait for them to be old enough to bring home, I was able to collect my sweet little Rylee! The breeder lived several hours away, and so I had to make a bit of a car trip to get there. Rylee was such a good girl and slept almost the whole way home!
She had a bit of trouble settling in at first-- whining and barking all night long even though we put lots of comfy towels in her crate and put a ticking clock nearby. As a few days have passed, though, she has started to calm down, bond to us, and realize that her new "pack" isn't going to abandon her.
She is potty-training amazingly fast. She has gone on the puppy pad a few times, but really prefers to go outside in the pine straw. She has gone to the bathroom every time we've taken her out-- she's such a good girl! We've also started introducing her to the rules of the house, and trying for some name recognition with the clicker. It's working really well, and I'm excited. What a smart girl!
Funniest part is that in the photo above, 48 hours ago, her ears were still floppy. This morning? Both ears have launched are standing right up! Haha! We ran her around a lot outside today, so she's pretty zonked and napping in her crate on top of her hedgie. Her choice. We left the crate door open. :3
