hmm, i don't think one gender would bark more than another. Bailey never barks - unless its a sudden sound, the vacuum, or the doorbell rings. Otherwise, he'd pass as being mute. I don't think having a backyard/not having a backyard would matter much. We have backyard, but Bailey's only been out there once or twice. The key is to take them out on long walks, etc, to tire them out! We go to dog parks, take walks 2-3x a day, etc. Good luck!
We got Bailey from a breeder in Corning, CA - called Briar Creek Kennels. I think they have a website, you can check. She's not a show breeder, but the mom was genetically tested and the pups were raised inside. Yea, pet stores are not a good place to get puppies!!!
