Timmy is so handsome...

The trip was coordinated through the rescue org. The foster home got him ready, got the crate, made the flight arrangements. She let me know the final costs and I sent her the check. It was very convenient.

Wichita to Dallas to Hartford to New Haven. Yes, that was a long trip for the little guy! He came in from Dallas with three puppies so he was not all alone.

PetSmart has handouts for each class so owners can keep up with everything. There's a good book in my class library. I can't remember the whole thing but it's like "101 Tricks" or something like that. I pull tricks out of there for my more advanced classes. It's pretty good.

Hi! Oh, you'll enjoy your tricks class. And it's a blast to teach. "Shaping" or free-shaping is simply a method of training more complex commands. Basically, it's breaking a command down to it's smallest components and teaching them one at a time to make the total command. The clicker is awesome for tricks as it "marks" the moment your dog does what you want. It makes learning so much easier! I used a modified positive based training, as per the requirements of PetSmart and we do use clickers in class. I find that after a few weeks, though, folks tend to stop using them because they can't get the hang of the hand coordination. :-( Best of luck with your class!!

Welcome! Timmy does have totally buff body!! CorgiMom and I have Tank, a cardi x, who is CGC and Delta certified, too. He's known at the local nursing homes as "the trick dog." Let's just say he likes to show off.
