Good Morning from Bethany CT. I see we are at opposite sides of the country. Cool. My husband Stu and I have the two black and whites Monty and Doc. They are uncle and nephew( Montys sister Llyn is Docs om-she is a beautiful Grey Merle).
I had wanted a Corgi my whole adult life. They are just the smartest, most entertaining and totally portable dogs for our lifestyle! Our only issue is their over protectiveness, as we do not believe in electric fences and neither does our vet or our breeder. They tend to bolt out of the yard and bark wildly at anyone coming by.
Thanks for the info on the SD meetup! I saw that recently and you can bet as soon as he's got the go ahead from the vet we'll be out there so he can start making friends!
Thanks for the welcome:)The forum has already proved to be a great resource. Elly had her first reverse-sneezing incident last night; apparently its not that uncommon. If not for some informative posts on here, I would have probably rushed her to an ER!!
I was pretty amazed when we were out doing chores and looked over saw a corgi standing there. I had to do a double take and look back to make sure it wasn't Kadi! Maybe it was seeing her that made him brave enough to show himself to us instead of running away. I got the feeling he'd been run off a few times already from other places.
I hope Sidney will fly the "flag" and encourage more people to get the "good" breeders to stop docking. By good breeders I mean those that do the necessary health tests on their breed, also breed for good temperament and breed for healthy conformation. As you know the Welsh Cardigan Corgi is not docked in his country of origin.
I am finding some difficulty finding a corgi breeder here. I ask every owner I see where they've got there corgi. I have been in contact with 2 breeders on other islands and fingers-crossed, I hope to have one in the family by the end of the year. I'm so excited!!
Oh, wow! I am pleased to have been accepted and especially delighted to be greeted with a very nice welcome from Geri & Sidney. Thanks! I truly appreciate this.
