We just lost our first Corgi, Mater, he was not even 3 yet. Started having seizures in October, and progressivly got worse. We had to put him down Feb 2nd this year, it has been hard copeing with his death, he was a great dog, and so full of life. He was taken from us too soon. I will miss him terribley.. I know we tried all we could to save him, spent thousands, would have spent millions if it could have saved him...
Sorry it took me so long to respond. I wanted to wait until I had more time to write more than 2 sentences. I can't imagine how hard it would have been for Algy to have left us as fast as Langston. We were lucky for the fact that Algy also had Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia for years and was on steroids that also kept the tumors at bay - for a time. It bought us 8 months to prepare for what we knew was coming, and time for us to love on him until it was time. I think it was harder on him, but easier on us. To lose them so quickly is such a shock. I can imagine how much you miss him, and in another way, I can't even begin to imagine, since we had time. It is also very interesting the point you made - about all three of us and our kiddos. I think they were all black-headed tri's to boot? This site helped me deal, and kept my spirits up with pictures and stories, and then we found a corgi that was being rehomed on here as well. Now we have two. Keep smiling - there's a corgi out there somewhere that needs you!
They are all beautiful; each with their own personality and can't forget those great smiles. . .you will definitely find your forever fur-baby--I'm sure of it. Andy has made himself at home. Yesterday they played so much, they didn't want to get out of bed this morning for their breakfast. I'm gonna wait awhile (after all, it's ony 3:07 a.m.). . . .by-the-way, I posted more pictures if you want to smille a some more. . . .LOL
This site can be difficult to navigate, don't give up! It took me a long time to down load pictures. I cannot believe the picture of Andy below! He is a looker!! She sure lucks into things.
Our thoughts are linking. . .my brother found a Corgi whose family is looking for a new home for their Corgi. He's a 10 month old tri-colored boy named Andy. We're driving to Santa Barbara tomorrow morning to "pick him up". We still have to meet the lady who is giving him up. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive so we're going to have to leave early to get back early for the trick or treaters. . . .LOL. . .cross your fingers. . . .
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. . .I know how terribe you must be feeling. I lost my Daisy on 8-13 of this year and I still cry over her. I enjoy seeing her pictures and videos and through them, she will always be alive. . .but the hurt is strong. I have my other 3 that keep me busy. I know they miss her too. . .Cloe whines for her. Daisy was her playmate. I think it's right that you should be looking for another Corgi. They are the best companions you could wish for. . .good luck and let us know when you find that special little fur-baby.
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. They have such big personalities and their shoes are hard to fill. But the love they give us makes the heartache worthwhile. Best wishes to you and your family during this time.
Connie, I am so sorry about Langston. Words do not help at this time, only time will heal. We lost our Odie 4 1/2 years ago and I still miss him but it has gotten easier. I no longer see him in every room in the house. Like Geri says, feel free to tell us about Langston and your feelings when you are up to it, it helps. You will be led to a new corgi in time. Good luck to you, and may the Lord be with you. Carol, Lucky and Sonny
