Ahh, I get it now! I can speak from experience that we have NO good Mexican here in NYC. It's a common chowhound woe. Thanks for the beta on the expression, I'll have to throw that into my lingo :)
Cheers from NYC, and give Beach a pat on the head from us!

Hi :) Thanks for the comment. Can you explain what "New York City Get a rope!" means? I think it's a Texas expression, because I have never heard it. Something about being a cowboy? Please enlighten me!
Bear is great, I love that you rescued him. Linus is his brother in rescue-dog spirit.
No we are not under water here. Lafayette is not as prone to flooding as some of our surrounding areas are. Avery Island i believe is still all in tact, and a very fun place to visit, and bring your dog!
I know he gets a little bored and the only other friend he had died about two weeks ago, if that. We had to put our family dog down, he had bad cancer. Zack is a wild boy and I love that about him. The issue is can someone train me to be a better dog owner...
Thanks for the welcome. Bear looks like he has a wonderful life; he looks so cute sleeping on the dash! My brother is a contractor for a trucking company as well (can't remember the name of the company, however) and travels all over the U.S. with his Australian Cattle Dog, Shadow. They have a great time. Take care our there!
LOL, well, I guess they are naturally quite the characters huh? LOL Oh my god, I love it, yours in a tux singing karaoke! Priceless! I think Bear and Uno must be brothers from another mother. He even has the proud banner of a tail like Uno! Awesome! If in your travels you are in Virginia, we have to meet up! Rose
You have wonderful pictures. Thank you for posting them on the website. I have just posted 8 pictures of our corgi's' and will in time add my current 2. Fiddler (Beagle) and Rusty (Manchester) in which I rescured from abusive and abandoned life. God Bless you and have a wonderful day. Bud
Hi Tammey, That was Emilys litter. Those were the baby pictures and that is Em's Mom! She had a huge litter. I wish I would have gotten one more! I would love to have two! That would have been a blast!
Hello again! You had asked about our black/tan dachshund and whether or not we take her kayaking with us. So far, Sadie hasn't gone kayaking with us, but she will. The photos of our Corgi, Mia, kayaking were taken before we got Sadie. As Sadie was a wee one (9 weeks old) when we got her in October 2007, and we weren't sure how big or how long she'd be as an adult (she's a standard, not a mini), we decided to hold off until she was finished growing. Then, we'll invest in a good quality life preserver for her and take her with us. She turned 1 year old in mid-August 2008, so we'll be outfitting her soon! :-)
Hi Tammy and Caven! Bear's a lucky pup. Thanks for giving him the chance at life that he and all companion animals deserve. It's no surprise that he has shown you both such loyalty. Looks like a great dog! You've done a terrific job capturing his character in your photos.
There are several rescue groups on Amelia Island (north Florida) where Jack and I reside, thank goodness. These people volunteer to foster, never earning a dime, giving wholly of themselves, digging deep into their own pockets to do what needs to be done to save these innocent souls. Our Humane Society is a no-kill shelter and does a great job with abandoned animals, but the county's Animal Control is utterly out of control! The animals there scarcely have a chance at finding homes, due to county politics, lack of funding, and irresponsible pet ownership. Our Mia was first dumped at Animal Control, but LUCKILY one of our wonderful rescue groups scooped her up and saved her life! I saw her photo in the newspaper, called the same day, and brought her home the next. That was November 9, 2006. We haven't looked back, only forward, grateful to have saved her.
You wrote to Jack and I: "We brought you a new neighbor recently. Just up the beach a bit St Simon Island. What a beautful area!" Do you mean that you've moved there? If so, you're very close by!
