Laser Pointers! I didn't think about trying that but judging from her personality I can see she'd love that too =) Boomer also loves car rides. My friends were telling me stories about other dogs getting car sick and so I was a little worried, but she was great. She'd sit and watch the window like it was TV. Now she gets my windows all slobbery by pressing her face up against the glass - which is annoying but what can you do.
Boomer got over her potty training issues a few months ago - thankfully we have a dedicated place for her in the backyard so it's a consistent location. At the tail end of potty training she was still having accidents, though more and more infrequently - maybe once every few weeks. She definitely understood that it's preferred to go outside but doesn't quite see that going inside is a major no no. So one time when I caught her red handed I just got "furious" and grabbed her, showed her the accident, yelled no and threw her into the dark bathroom and slammed the door. Then I just scared the shit out of her by yelling some more. I felt really bad and but I know it had to be done. After a few minutes i let her out and consoled her and she never had an accident since.
They say that negative reinforcement and punishment is a bad thing but it could be a useful tool, especially since you've tried everything else. If she is as smart as i think she is, she should know what to do, you just need one shock moment to really drive the lesson home. Not saying it would work for Tobee but that's how I got over the last hump. Good luck!
Boomer is a strange one too (in an endearing way) and she has many interesting phobias. The garbage truck gets her riled up every thursday morning. Balloons, kids on skateboards... the list goes on. She still has a problem with meeting other dogs. I'm wondering if Tobee is the same way. I take her out to socialize every weekend and she's getting a lot better but it's always a coin toss whether or not she gets along and play or growl and snarl.
Regardless - I'm always amazed at how smart she is and I'm sure Tobee is the same. She's also very observant and wants to be where the action is, just so she can jump in and save us if anything goes wrong. And by save i mean give someone an earful =)
I am so glad I found you! I have Tobee's sister and the resemblance is uncanny! I'll need to post Boomer's baby pictures soon. I can't wait to talk about what else they have in common. Needless to say she's adored by everyone, as I'm sure Tobee is!
8 Weeks was when i started He learned Sit and his name, 9 weeks he learned down, 10 weeks he learned how to come, 11 weeks he learned how to shake, 12 weeks he learned how to high five, 13 weeks he learned roll over, 14 weeks he learned bang bang.
He is treat motivated by but adding frequency to his reward pattern he does multiple tricks until he receives the treat.
Thanks for the comment on Lances pic, we appreciate it. :) Your pup is precious!! I cant believe Lance will be 5 at the end of this month!!! The time really flies by way too fast. Looking forward to seeing lots of pics of your pup growing. When does your corgi come home?
She is so stinking cute! I have photos of Eddie in front of that same blanket. It would drive us crazy waiting for him because Kim sent those sweet photos. Tobee is a beauty. She will get redder as she grows. Cuuuuuuutie!
