LOL..actually my name is Arlene so close enough... I am sure by now you heard that I met your boyfriend at Wagville! I actually did not get a chance to see your message until now but glad that I was running late to pick up the dogs at Wagville...I typically pick the dogs around 6:30 so my timing was perfect. Pancake is soooo petite and so sweet. I think she going to be a small Corgi...16 pounds. Good things come in small packages.
Hopefully we will met the next time at Wagville...probably won't be there until September. My nephew wants to take care of my dogs during his last two weeks of summer.
I am glad to hear that you found a place that you are comfortable with! I hope the experience is positive. Pancake is young but I am sure that Wagville will take good care of her. I plan to take P & P there on Wednesday so you can get them out on the webcam. I also use their grooming services...I won't clip their nails...what can I say, I am a big chicken! Look forward to hear about Pancake big night out!
Wageville is great and the staff are really nice. The owner Julie is very involved in her business and you willl see her in the play area with the dogs. My dogs are there 1 day a week and it is expensive but it is worth it. My dogs are exercised and I can check on them on the webcam. They keep small and large dogs separated so there are no mishaps. I love their hours 7:00 am to 9:00 pm...for a working person this is great!
You may want to check out Double Dog Dare Ya in Burbank. They are a smaller care facility but very nice...a little pricy. If this facility was closer to my house and work, I would take my dogs there.

I would suggest if you have time, visit the day care and interview the owners and the staff and if you feel comfortable then I would trust them.
Oh by the way, P & P were very hard to walk on a lease and it takes time to get them to walk right. I find that they don't like walking when it is too hot and during the winter months, they are perfect walkers. What can I say...Corgis...they have their own minds.
Hi Irene, agility should be about 6 to 8 months at the earliest due to growth and Corgis are known for hip problems so it is best not to have them run too much until they are fully grown. I am glad that you found a class and just keep in mind Pancake is only 4 months so by 6 to 8 months of age, all the training will come through. Just be firm but positive when needed and everything will work out. As for the beach, I love Huntington Beach (Golden West and PCH) in Orange County. It is a long drive but worth it. There are only two off leash beaches for in our area but Huntington Beach is larger and just nice. After an hour on the beach, we drive over to Newport Shopping Center (very dog friendly and most of the stores will allow you to bring the dogs in) to eat lunch and just to walk around. Just FYI, Long Beach restrict the beach for dogs and there is never enough room to move around. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.
Hi I saw that you were looking for a dog trainer. I think getting a trainer is great to train you so you can train your dog. Watching certain dog training shows are helpful but I personally think it is worth getting a few personal lessons. Since I said all that, Parker and Penelope used Nicole of Teachers Pet Dog Training at the age of 9 weeks and it was worth every penny! Nicole is located in Pasadena and will travel. My dogs love Nicole and she is great. Nicole is now teaching Parker and Penelope agility at the Pasadena Humane Society. It is a lot of fun and a great way for Corgis to work their smart minds and active legs! :)
Wow... we seem to have the same problems. :) Yoshi stop with the poop thing though but he still nips at us and barks back when we tell him no. I know people say not to sign up for training, but we did and it has helped. :) Their birthdays are so close! mine was born april 7th!!! :)
Pancake is adorable and very lucky! My dogs did everything that Pancake is doing...chewing on the furniture = teething so keep plenty of chew toys. It is always helpful to catch the dog in the act then gently correct...it may take weeks but they will get it. Puppy training is good. Check the Pasadena Humane Society for training. We found training helfpul for us and our dogs are pretty good dogs. Eating poop is pretty gross but it is something that they do (don't really know why!) and trust me they will stop.
Yeah I don't just go to them because they're cheap... that's the added plus! :)
Dr. Tang is very against doing things that don't need to be done, unlike some vets who will roll out tests and things that are totally unnecessary. I've always enjoyed him, and the woman vet (I don't remember her name).
The vet we had before Dr. Tang was out in Woodland Hills, when we had our boy neutered he didn't stitch him up correctly, he had a hernia and had to have another operation that they charged us for... even though it was their fault. All said and done, it cost about 800 dollars for a neuter. The vet from Woodland Hills was an actor on the side... we should've known better.
I haven't really gone to any dog parks in the area... the older boy is somewhat dog aggressive towards other dogs, and the younger one finally got all her shots but it's been super hot.

I've driven by this place a few times and it's always pretty jumping.
I live in Burbank and I take both my corgis to Best Care Pet Clinic in Glendale.
Dr Tang and all the other doctors I have encountered are super nice and very helpful. Best of all they are way inexpensive compared to the first vet I took my older corgi to when I moved to CA. That place was 50 dollars just to have the vet see your dog... Best Care is about 20. I've had lots of things done (including all of Penny's vaccinations) and never had it cost above 100 dollars. She is getting spayed next week so I assume that will :)
Their phone number is (818) 502-1134.
I know about 4 other people who take their dogs there, including a coworker and they all love it there.
Hi again, cutie pancake.... My two are male and female.
Rubie is the tri-color and Yogi is the blondie... by the way, i loooovvvve the name Pancake. I am glad he is doing better. Take care of him and love him to pieces.
Hi. Everything you are going through, I went through with my yogi 10 years ago.
He would vomit and poop blood every day. I went to the vet so many times for the same thing. In the end, I ended up cooking for both my doggies. They eat home cooked food which consist of brown rice, mixed vege's and turkey. I give them both frozen broccoli, carrots and califlower as treats and they are in perfect health. As for the eating wood, yeah mine did it too. He ate our floor boards, my rubie, the female distroyed our rugs. She would also rip papers and toilet paper ever chance she got. We had to replace them with wood floors. But in the end its all worth it because they are the best doggies in the world. I love them to death. We are in the process of adding a puppy in the fall. I hope yr adorable Pancake gets better. Again try the BRAT diet if all else fails.
Your little girl is very cute. Hopefully some of the experienced owners here can help with some of your problems. You might also try gocorgi.com as there are some very experienced people on that site. Check out all the forums for information. Welcome.
