I tried "roll-over" with Cookie today, for the first time, and she did roll-over, with a treat as her reward! I think this is an easy for Pembroke W Corgi's, since they are low to the ground! Yeah!
Lance is adorable. I love blue merles. I've told Lucas dozens of times that our next dog family is going to be one Pem and one blue merle Cardi.
I saw in your blog that you have trouble with Lance pulling. Ein is the exact same way. The only thing I have found that works is an anti-pull harness that we got from Walmart. Unlike a traditional harness, the part you attach the leash too goes under their front legs, so if they pull too hard, it tightens on their front legs to tell them to slow down. We tried products like the gentle leader, and Ein just flopped around like a fish out of water and then sat down and sulked. He did not like it at all. However, I do still have it if you want to give it a try, I can send it to you. I don't have the instructions page that says how to put it on, but you might be able to get that from the website? Not sure.
hi natalie...sorry I missed your comment on my page. thanks for writing! Simon and Blue are 7 and every bit as goofy as when they were puppies. don't ya just love those silly blue merle corgis? and the black and white ones, and the tri-colors, and the brindles, and the...(can anyone name them all?) :-)
Thanks! Excited is an understatement LOL! Luckily I have a few weeks to research and get everything ready. I like your Cardigan. He has some really cool markings and looks pretty clever.
Hi, I do it 1st by uploading my photos into Picassa; then I upload them into Picassa web albums. Then I choose a photo that I want to edit and open Picnik and edit it. I save it. It then saves it to Picassa web albums. Then I open it up there and save it to my desktop. Then I upload into My Page. It isn't hard; just time consuming to do one photo. All the programs are free and do basic editing...it is really fun. Have you ever used editing software? I started working with Picassa because it has the very basics. I do a lot more to my pictures than just borders. You can change exposure, colour saturation, etc. It gives my pictures that "pop" that I like. If you want to know more just ask. Thanks for all your compliments...I am behind in writing because I have been doing 5 pictures and 2 videos.
Looking forward to meeting you and your family. I will need to stop by my house and get Cookie, then pick up the girls. See you at Hummer Park at 5:00!
yes I do plan on crate training her. I heard such good things about it. the name is actually our last name, we will probably name her millie (after miller beer) but we will see her personality and dictate her name from there. we are just so happy with how well they do in apartments and with children as we will be trying for a baby soon. corgis are just such an all around good breed! your lance is a handsome one! amazing how they grow so fast!
Thanks!! She will be 11 weeks I believe when we pick her up. The breeder didn't want to release before 10 weeks and it just works out that my husband and I have the Friday off for the 4th so we can take extra time to make the LONG drive up north to get her. :) And also for the way back as I don't want to do an 11 hour drive with a small puppy in the car (for her sake AND ours) LOL.
He almost looks like a short speckled version of a wolf. You can tell your dogs are all well care for and loved. Do you have 4? I love living in San Antonio and a big reason is the dog park. It's a pretty dog friendly city. There are actually 2 nice dog parks but one is just about a mile away so we go there quite a bit. If it's not a hundred degrees we plan to meet up with another corgi owner tonight and let the dogs get together.
Thanks, your dog is gorgeous. I told James I want a Cardigan one day. We'll see how that goes. The smaller the dog the easier it is to travel being military we travel quite a bit. So maybe after retirement. :) Anyway, he's very pretty!
