Without sounding too pessimistic I'm afraid you are fighting a losing battle. I'm a professional gardener and have reseeded bits of my lawn twice in vain since having Fox for just over a year. I've discovered the best soloution is to leave his favourite holes unfilled and then he goes back to those, instead of digging extra new ones. I tried the sandpit idea below, but he just flung the sand all over the place until the box was empty, pood and weed in it and I ended up with even more work than before. Now that he and I have come to this arrangement, he seems happy with his three burying holes. Good luck.

Have you tried buying them a Toy Sand pit? it really helps to get out the Digging tendencies.
