try pushing the hand with treat in it TOWARDS the pup. It should force him to stretch his front paws out and lay down.

First of all Miles is adorable! Second, i was wondering how you trained him to do this. I have had a hard time teaching Rocky to lay down, he has sit but when i try and get him to lay down he just puts his face close to the ground, not his body.
