As far as method Adam doesnt really have anything specific. The trick really dictates how we teach it to him. For something like roll over he just told Odin roll and gave the hand motion and then pushed Odin over and gave him a treat. Eventually Odin learned thats what Adam wanted him to do. For Whisper Adam just sat in front of Odin saying whisper over and over till Odin made a sound in frustration. When he did we gave him a treat and lots of praise. Eventually Adam started narrowing down the sound we wanted whisper to be. Mostly its just daily repetition. Sometimes it will be a 15 minute session and other times its just one trick, but its everyday.
awesome! Ollie knows most of the same ticks -- we just added bang bang -- but he's 9.5 months so he's still a bit wiggly about it and doesn't have Odin's focus. The whisper & balance tricks are such great ideas! Lately, I've been having Ollie "go get -----" so that if someone is else (say my sister) is around, I can say "Go get Tasha!" and he'll herd her over to me... it gives him something to do and people love it!
Now the trick that floors me is "leave it" where he actually looks away from the treat! That one is going to take us a while...!
