Yes, I don't know why such sweet creatures have to suffer..But at least they get a second chance at a happy loving home when nice people like us find them. :) Liza is like my daughter, I talk about her like she is a person and people have actually been surprised to find out she wasn't a human daughter when they met her. Looking at her now you can hardly tell she had a rough past, she's recovered so nicely and she has a great temperment. I'm sorry to hear about poor Lilly's cancer, I wish you and she the best and that she can get better (or at least not suffer). You seem like such a great corgi mom! :)
Hi, I hope that Lilly is doing well! It's always difficult to know that our furry companions are ailing. I see that you rescued both of your pups - can you tell me if you rescued them here in LV? My mother is looking for a dog, and I (naturally ;-) ) think that a corgi would be an excellent choice! If you know anyone who is involved in corgi rescue here, I'd be so grateful if you could pass along their contact information. Thank you very much, Karen
Oh, my gosh! I'm so sorry to hear about Lilly! But don't panic yet, she can still live a long and happy life, even with the cutaneous lymphoma. Yes, my first corgi/mix, Patches, had it. She had several surgeries to remove the growths and lived to be 15 1/2 years of age! I eventually had to put her to sleep, not because of the cutaneous lymphoma, but because she had other problems due to old age that depleted her quality of life, and it wasn't fair to keep her alive for me. Actually, the growths were all benign in the beginning. It took years for the malignancy to set in. If that's any condolence for you. You still have many happy, loving years together. Each surgery was worse for me than it was for Patches. She actually felt better to have the growths removed after a day or two back home and was up and running around as if nothing had ever taken place.
Thank you. And how wonderful of you to rescue! They are very lucky to have you. We would like to one day have a house with acreage so we can start our own Corgi rescue.
That's cool! I just heard about the web site from one of the corgi owners a while ago. We went to a corgi meet up over at mountain view. Hope all is well! Take care.
Thanks for accepting Benzo as your friend. You are so lucky to have 2 corgis. My husband and I want to add another corgi to our family. Do you like Vegas than the bay area now? I love the bay area but my husband wants to move to Sac.
I know what you mean, I told my boyfriend the same thing....he took me to a few stores a few years ago and I fell in love with them, and two years ago I got one and it was all over, had my litter of puppies and now I want more. So we decided once we move out we're gonna have a bunch of little corgis runnin around :)
