Eddy's 1st b-day is coming up. Lately he has been heavily targeted by aggressive male dogs at the park. It's as if they are magnetized to him, cannot leave him alone endlessly, and finally get frustrated or something? and attack. Eddy is more into "flight" than "fight" - he does not fight back, defend himself, or "get revenge" afterwards. Eddy ends up getting hurt, and whoever the owner is apologizes profusely and doesn't know what's come over their dog, and they leave usually. The owners always acknowledge that Eddy is innocent, and we are perplexed. This has happened like twice, each time, the last 2 times I've gone to the dog park!!

It's very bizarre. Eddy is neutered, hasn't shown any interest in "marking" territory, is submissive and shy with adult dogs+people, and prefers to play chase but will wrestle with a familiar dog. Some male dogs just run right up to him, start bullying him all over the place, mounting him, chasing him dog-tired, and then end up getting too aggressive and biting him. Is it his age and time to determine if he is alpha or gamma or what? (And obviously not being alpha!) His ears are tore-UP from these confontations, and today some dog bit his forehead, drawing blood. We've never had problems until like a week ago.

This is sad. My feeling is that it is his age and that other dogs are sensing that he is approaching maturity... trying to make sure he stays in his "place" so to say. ??? I don't know. I hope it doesn't last. Eddy is a good boy and doesn't deserve this treatment.
