I hope you might consider blogging on working with Nigel through this. I know we would all find it very helpful. Nigel is lucky to have such a caring person!
There is a yahoo group called wheeled corgis or corgis with wheels, something like that, which might be a big help to you. They have corgis who are using wheelchairs for various reasons DM being one of them. Good luck.
Bart. Here is a link to a response that a vet made to similar question you had. I believe there are discussion streams on DM on the MyCorgi sight as well. Such a heartbreaking diagnosis for Nigel, but there is much you can do for him. I have no experience with the disease, but have tried to learn more about it as is becomes more prevelant with this breed and I have eight of them! Good luck to you and Nigel. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Dogs/Degenerative-Myelopathy/show/1007151
I never knew I was a fanatic until I got here! Thank God I'm not alone in my love of Corgis! The best part is I get to see everyone else's beautiful dogs, I never get tired of the pictures.
Thank you. Can you tell I am addicted? I think for some of us we need a corgi anonymous group. LOL Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe. Don't eat too much turkey..you know what they say..you are what you eat. lol
