We're thinking of taking a trip over to St. Augustine area.  Anyone got any recommendations for restaurants, activities, shopping etc that would allow Stanley?

Thanks in advance!!

St. Augustine is probably the most dog-friendly place in Florida. The downtown historic area has many restaurants that allow for your dog to join you. Nearly all of the shops in the historic district are dog friendly. St. Johns County allows dogs on the beach too!

Be sure to check out Paradise Poochie (located at 51 Cordova Street) to get your corgi some home made treats! Tell them Elvis sent you!
Elvis-1 agree' s with Elvis, especially about Paradise Poochie !
This is good to hear. The condo where we'll be staying (Hibiscus, near Salt Water Cowboy's) doesn't allow dogs. Do you know of a kennel nearby where we could board Dewey so that we could take him out on the beach with us from time to time? I'd love to see him chase the waves!
Thanks everyone! Sounds like it'll be a fun trip for us & Stanley!

@Beth, this place looks pretty good http://www.petparadiseresort.com/pet_paradise_L_st_augustine.php

But I've never been. Anyone else know anything about this daycare center??
St Augustine was great, we received a lot of compliments in the old district. Be careful when they light up the canon, it makes a LOUD noise! So hold on to your leash or carry Stanley during those times. Make sure you bring some bug spray too.

Here's a review on Pet Paradise
I have heard good things about Pet Paradise.

I am very surprised that Hibuscus would not allow you to bring your dog, I have a friend who stays there often and they allow her dog.

If you let me know the weekend, Elvis and I would be happy to watch Dewey!!! Elvis loves company!
Thank you for that information. I just sent an email to Hibiscus to double-check on the pet policy. I would love to take Dewey - he's never been to the beach. Does Elvis like the beach? P.S. If I do get to bring Dewey - we'd love to meet Elvis :)
Elvis LOVES the beach! I am sure Dewey will as well. Just be sure to have a water source because it has been HOT lately! (Paradise Poochie sells these great water bottles that have an attached bowl to them called Gulpy's. They are about $10!) Elvis loves the water but isn't much of a swimmer. At low tide there are these great sloughs on the beach that dont get deeper than about 1-1.5 feet which are perfect for corgis to cool off.

Please let us know when you are coming! We would love to meet you!
Pamela Vail's Pet Spa is also located very close to where you are staying: http://www.petgroominginfo.com/Florida/Pamela-Vails-Pet-Spa-14805.html
I have never used either facilities so I cannot comment about their services.

Pet Paradise is about a 20 min drive from where you will be staying on Anastasia Island.
