I had a corgi son, Larry, who was my companion through a lot of hard times and at times, was all I had. This past spring, Larry woke up one morning and was walking slowly, three days later he was completely paralyzed and we had to put him down. His mind was so sharp but his body defeated him. We were all devastated.
It took some major grieving before we could even think about a puppy. But as time moved forward, we felt the healing take place and found an amazing breeder, Wendy Wendt.
Today, our puppy is only two weeks old and will be ready to be our beloved corgi son in September!
I have:

Somedays when i am doing all the laundry from Lucky, I wonder if we made the right decision, then I look at his smiling face and I know that we did! I took the liberty of reading your comment to Lori, I am so glad to know that someone believes as I do!! When we lost or 1st dog, I was telling our son she was in Heaven, our pastor's wife informed me that dogs have no spirit and do not go to heaven! My poor child was heart broken. What a cruel thing to tell a child, I guess we each have our own faith that gets us thru! September is right around the corner, and I think you have found an amazing breeder in Wendy
Wow Heather I just love your message. Here I wanted to comfort you in some small way and instead I felt your words comforted me. I shall treasure your words and keep them in our memory book...thank you for sharing...Lori
Welcome Heather! I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss of Larry! My heart truly aches for your loss...Do you believe in Rainbow Heaven? That's what gets me though the loss of my various babies...Hoping all the best for when you can bring home your new baby...keep us posted...we'll be waiting for pics...
Heather, I have 2 corgis, both current ones are rescues! Lucky, the one on wheels was rescued out of a snowbank (go figure) He is so happy to be playing ball again!!! I don't know if we would have done surgery (you never know) if we had not lost our Odie about a month before to a long-term illness, I just could not bear a second death so soon. Everyone has to do what is right for them! Anyway, you are getting a puppy, YEAH! I have a couple pictures of Lucky on wheels on our page, the boys don't like their pictures taken, so not many pictures. I am hoping to get better at being sneaky!
Welcome Heather, so sorry to hear about Larry. Our Lucky was completely paralyzed and saved bu surgery, now on wheels, it has been a rocky course! I often wonder if we made the right decision 4 years ago. I am so glad you have found Wendy and her puppies!!! I see her name on this site a lot, do you have a name yet? It must be hard to wait for time to bring your new son home!!! I know that when we found Odie after losing Ginger we were at the breeders house weekly (she was a block away) Good Luck!!!!
