It was a pretty long walk to get to the beach (my husband has bad knees and barely made it) but we had fun.  We got there late (around 2 pm) and there were still maybe 20 corgis but we heard there had been a lot more and on the way to the beach we ran into a number of them as they were leaving.  We also met a "famous" corgi - Franklin, from "Where's Franklin?"  And when we were leaving we saw the cutest 3 mo. old puppy named Buster.  Makes me want to get another.  Hopefully we will see everyone at another meetup (and hopefully one without such a long trek to the beach LOL).

Thomasina, the walk down to the actual beach is sand but it is steep. The actual meet up location however is above the beach on sand dunes, the walk to this location is down a paved road with a slight incline

Mom & I will be there!!!! I'll be wearing a pink bandana so you'll know it's me!!! Mom is debating wearing the shirt she bought for the meet up... doesn't wanna risk getting in trouble for us all still meeting even tho we were told NO... but what can they honestly do, right!?

Carrie, many of us will still be going. The "official" event was cancelled because the rec department said we couldn't meet up but there are still quite a few that are going due to the fact that there is NO WAY they can enforce not allowing a group of people with dogs going to a public dog park!

Wait..... it's canceled????!!! When did this happen? Why? I can't find the event on my facebook anymore. I didn't see any notifications :( I'm so sad. I hope everyone is still going, I was so excited to go and still want too! I already told my pups and they are looking forward to it.

The "official First Annual Meet" by the "Bay Area & Northern California Corgis" Group will be rescheduled, according to their FB site.
However, on my "Corgis of Contra Costa County" meetup.com site (http://www.meetup.com/Corgis-of-Contra-Costa-County-CA/) I have kept a meet-up for June 22nd, but renamed it to "SF Corgi Field trip for Contra Costa Corgis". 

The meetup group is mainly geared towards Corgis in Contra Costa County because most of the meetups will be in CCC dog parks. However, even if you don't reside in CCC, feel free to join the group if you would like to come to meets at dog parks there.

Stacey----yeah, lots of people are going despite the event being "cancelled". I hope everyone here will still go. It's a public park, please come!

So I read on Facebook that "officially" the event at Ft. Funston has been cancelled.  We might just go there anyways and if there is any trouble or problems we will look for another place to hang out - SF is fun no matter what and we always like taking the dogs with us almost anywhere.  We have brought them to Disneyland, Monterey and Carmel, Oregon, etc. and we get treated like celebrities when they are with us LOL
