Event Description

Please join in on the fun as we meet at another Central FL dog park! We're headed to Barnett Dog Park. It's located off of West Colonial Drive between Pine Hills Road and Mercy Drive directly behind the Central Florida Fairgrounds. Turn on the side street called BMX Lane, which goes into Barnett Park and follow that road around past the BMX tracks to the park entrance. Go into the park a little ways to find the dog park - it's located near the frisbee golf grounds. I've never been to this park but have heard it doesn't have water fountains so be sure to bring some water for your pup. We'll bring some too in case you forget. Hope to see you guys there!!

I am glad I found the park. I drove around for a while. I remember in one of the websites I visited to read about Barnett Dog Park, they mentioned crossing a foot bridge. I saw it, parked the car and decided to venture. At least Nala would get a long walk. I was glad when I found it. There were a good number of corgis, all of them playful and happy. I got to meet some of them. They were all beautiful and sweet. Nala went to bed around 8pm, and has not made a peep since. She is completely pooped. She look so sweet. Hopefully can make it to the next. Thanks for organizing it.

Sorry Chloe's friends. Chloe and I drove around for about an hour trying to find the park. We absolutely could not find the dog park portion. We found everything else, the BMX tracks, etc... The people in the are were very unhelpful, too. There were too many side streets to turn down and no signs for the dog park. We just got home and we're a little frustrated. We wasted gas and toll money that we really don't have to waste and Chloe didn't even get to see her friends :( Oh well, hopefully we'll have better luck next time.

Dixie and I went to the Barnett Dog park today to check it out. There are separate Big and Little dog sections. We only went in the little dog section, there is a double gate but the second gate did not latch so be careful coming and going. There is no water fountains for the puppies so be sure to bring water. There is limited shade and one bench so if you want to set you will want to bring a chair. Barnett park its self is very nice, and there is plenty of parking. The dog park is very clean and there are bags provided to pick up after your pup. Hope this helps, Dixie and I look forward to seeing you all there.
