In one of the potty training dicussions, a member listed a couple of links in regard to puppy litterbox training:
http://www.kturby.com/litter/litter.htm
http://www.doglitter.com/GetPage.aspx?ContentID=234&D=13486060&...

I am considering this method because my courtyard is sealed off due to renovations on the balconies of the apts above (for the next couple of months). The hallway we walk through to go outside is rather long, so I'm a little worried about accidents when we can't make it outside in time. But maybe those accidents will be occasional since I'll be taking her out after eating and playing anyway? Using the litterbox, although expensive, seems like it would be convenient for the puppy and me.

Thoughts and recommendations? If you litterbox train, do you use the Purina Secondnature system? Thanks!

My sister uses a litter box for mini pin. It's very convenient, my only qualm with it is that the pieces get stuck in her paws and gets around the house. Also, sometimes dogs kick after pooping and this tends to make a mess of the litter unless you get a box that prevents this from happening. I choose to use pee pads with Mei. I bought a Whiz Dog, which holds the pee pad under a grate so that their paws don't have to walk on the pad. It's kind of hard to clean the grate when they poop....but Mei rarely poops on it since I walk and she does it then. Oh, and my sister uses a different dog food brand. Hope this helps! =)
