Do dogs have to learn how to use a kong or is it instinctive? We have a kong for our 5 month corgi, but he doesn't seem to like it that much. I've put a really smelly treat in small bits on the inside, a little bit of the kong spray and then a biscuit sticking out of it. He'll eat the biscuit, but he doesn't seem to try and eat the kong spray (like ezy cheese but chicken liver flavored). He likes all three separate I know.

hmmm.....Lance liked his right away. I believe we started with putting a little bit of peanut butter in it and then froze it. We would give it to him to lick once it was frozen! Eventually we switched to putting his favorite Natural Balance treat in the Kong and he would go crazy, after licking it for so long he eventually figured out that he could bounce it out of his mouth and it would come out after bouncing so much! Maybe this is why he likes to lick us to death, lol. I wouldnt give up yet he may like it eventually.
