Grass stickers/burrs are fairly common, so has anybody else ever had this problem? My 5 month old corgi puppy, Chase, does fine in nice grass, but my whole neighborhood has terrible grass that's mainly weeds and stickers because my house is in the middle of nowhere. It only took one time stepping into the grass and getting a sharp sticker in his pads to figure out my grass was painful and now he refuses to touch it! He pees on my porch and pooped in my neighbor's driveway once. He has no problem going on the street either.

I was thinking about making a "dog run" out of astro turf by tent-staking it down just off my back porch and letting him always go on that. Does this seem like a decent solution? The only other thing I can think of is getting him shoes but... I'm nervous that would insult his corgi fashion sense. Thanks!
