Ever since we got Callie (we got her July 4th of this year) she has had runny eyes on and off and sneezes a lot. As she gets older it gets better bit by bit. Now it is combining season and both my allergies (which are horrible all year long) and her's are flaring up (in fact we even have sneezing fits at the same time) She hasn't been upset or bothered by it as of yet and the vet said to keep an eye on her and if it does get worse she will start some benadryl. We are hoping she will grow out of it.

I guess the point of this post is to see if anybody else's corgi has allergies and what do they do to help them?

Sidney has had some days this summer with goopy discharge in his eyes, but it is happening less and less. We're just leaving it be.

I hope Callie feels better soon.
I would keep an eye on it, Lance does have allergies, sneezing, even had a reverse sneezing fits a couple of times, sounded horrible because we werent really sure what is was, but the vet did put Lance on Benadryl and he seemed to get better. Took him off and the reverse sneezing has gone away, yeah. I would make sure Callie is not chewing anywhere on her body because of the allergies. Sometimes they lick so much they give themselves bald spots. Good luck
the only allergy problems chloe has had were from fleas. she got fleas really bad after we moved to florida and i tried everything to get them under control and ended up at the vet when she had an allergic reaction and started losing her hair. she was on antibiotics to make sure she didnt get an infection, had a cortizone shot for the itching and was on benadryl for 2 weeks. the benadryl made her a little loopy and she walked around for 2 weeks looking high but she felt better.
i got comfortis from my vet and it seems to have done the trick and gotten rid of her flea problem and all her pretty hair has grown back.
Hi Lusa and Callie, so sorry little Callie is having a bad time. My Charlie has allergies and I hate to tell you this, but they seem to get worse each year. Charlie has the goopy eye discharge and gets very itchy each summer. The last two summers have been very dry here and that seems to have made things even worse. He will come in after being outside and rub is sweet little face on the carpet, lick the bottom of his paws and chew his hind legs until he has bald spots.

He gets benadryl and I wipe him down with hypo allergenic baby wipes to help get rid of any stuff that may cling to his fur. He also gets medicated baths and occasionally will have to have a shot of cortizone and antibiotics to head off any secondary infections from all the chewing.

Your vet should advise you about how much benadryl to give Callie and anything else you may like to try to help her. She seems very young to already be having problems. Charlie's allergies didn't start to bother him until he was around two.

Charlie suffers every year from seasonal allergies and I keep trying to find the perfect anecdote. So far, I'm sorry to say, we haven't found the magic combination. I wish I could give you more encouraging and helpful tips. Hopefully, Callie won't have as many problems as Charlie.

Maybe someone else out there has the perfect solution for all of us and our allergy prone pups. Good luck!
Poor Charlie sounds like my friend's beagle, he has bad allergies too. When we first got Callie she had to be outside for the first two days because we spent the weekend helping my brother and his new wife move in and her eyes were producing some serious discharge. Since then we noticed that everytime she goes outside she comes in she sneezes a lot. Last night we had a bonfire in our backyard and she came out with us (she LOVES going outside) and she didn't sneeze as much and today her eyes aren't runny so things have been getting better.
