My corgi has heart murmur

Dear all,

i last mth i jus got a corgi pup (3mths) frm pet farm in my region..
and we didnt really know how to choose a dog, we are doggie lover.. we will go to farms and dog show jus to see doggie.. and this corgi pup really catches our eye and we decided to have her as our new family member...

she's active and fun loving... but there is this problem.. her heart beats kinda fast... so while i brought her to the last vacination, our vet den told us she has heart murmur is frm birth.. it may or may not go away when she grows older...

we are really soo scare and sad... :( and shes so active.. we not sure whether will affect her heart not...

anyone knows any recommendation as in food/exerise/supplementry etc tat will improve her health??

Lots of dogs and cats have heart mumurs.

Also, some new reports out there contribute this to L-Carnitine and Taurine deficiencies. Some murmurs are benign. Some congenital. I'd ask your vet to rule out any serious heart disease and go from there.

Heart murmur is very common, what it means is there is leakage in the heart valve, over time if can get worst of stay the same. Usually there won't be any problem until old age, if it leaks too much, your vet will recommend a heart valve surgery. Don't worry too much and make sure you have your annual check up with the vet.

I had a heart murmer as a pup...I mean as a child...and I'm doing just fine!

Just make sure she gets her regular check-ups and love her. love her, love her! I'm confident she will be just fine and the two of you will be very happy together.

I was about to say, lots of active people have heart murmurs too! My brother had a heart murmur, and now has an occasional arrythmia, but he's fine. (He hams it up a lot thought! >D )

I'm not familiar with timberwolf, so I can't compare, but I personally like fish diets alot because of the high levels of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, which are great for their skin and coat. We have three dogs, and our collie had a really bad problem with dry skin. We switched all three of the dogs to a salmon based food and also added fish oil once a day for just the collie, and at her last vet appointment, the vet said that she didn't see any evidence of dry skin. All three of the dogs seem to have shinier coats on the salmon than they did when they were on lamb and rice.
